I started sewing when I was 13, making most of my own clothes through high school and college and majored in Fashion Merchandising at Winthrop. I started smocking after my daughter was born, and when my children were too old to wear smocked clothing, I began sewing more adult garments. I have taught garment construction and sewing techniques for the last ten years at a local fabric store. I am happy to say that I am smocking again because I now have a beautiful granddaughter to sew for.
